Fall 2026: The Son Has Truth (covering The Gospels):

Jesus’s ministry on earth was grounded in the truth and His divine identity and power. He spoke in truth and He lived in truth. Through parables and other teachings, Jesus taught us to seek truth, hear it, and grow because of it. His miracles over creation, sickness, and death prove the truth of His authority. And as more and more people took the step of faith to trust in Him, we see the truth of the growth of His kingdom. The events surrounding Jesus are just not stories, they’re truth—evidence for the One who is God’s Son, the Savior of the world.

Summer 2026: The Son Has Authority (covering The Gospels):

Jesus entered our world with a mission to serve, yet He did so with power, resulting in a myriad of responses. Some were in awe of Him, and others worshiped Him. Some proclaimed His name to whoever would hear; others criticized Him for what seemed like blasphemy. Yet His teachings and works had authority. No one could deny that Jesus was unique, unlike any other man or prophet. He fulfilled prophecies from Scripture and could heal diseases and cast out demons. When encountering Jesus, people were left with only two choices: believe and trust in Him or reject Him. The Gospels give us proof that Jesus is the Messiah. He is the Savior of the world, and we must worship and obey Him in faith.

Winter 2025/2026: Prophets and Provision (covering The Prophets; Ezra-Esther):

Throughout the exile of His people, God remained faithful in providing for those who lived in faith, even under persecution. He provided His presence, protection, and prophets to show the world that He is the almighty God. And when the time was right, He allowed the Jews to return to Jerusalem to rebuild the temple, to continue right worship, and to rebuild the city because He is a God of restoration. The Lord desires to restore His people to a right relationship with Him. We see this ultimately through His sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die and rise again. Through His work, people can be restored permanently and adopted into God’s family. Despite our sin, which exiles, God provided a way home, and the only way is Jesus.

Fall 2025: Division and Defiance (covering 1 Kings-2 Chronicles; The Prophets):

After Solomon’s reign over a united people, because of his sin of idolatry, the kingdom split. To varying degrees, the kings of the Northern Kingdom of Israel and the Southern Kingdom of Judah often followed that same idolatrous path, with a few exceptions. Thus, God sent prophets to call them to repentance and to warn the people of His judgment. Because they did not humble themselves and listen, their enemies overtook them and they were sent into captivity. But even as the prophets warned of judgment, they also prophesied a future day of hope—a day when the Messiah, Jesus Christ, would come to establish His kingdom and a new covenant to forgive sin and provide eternal hope for God’s people. (13 sessions)

Summer 2025: Foolishness and Wisdom (covering 1 Samuel-1 Kings; Wisdom Literature):

After the period of the judges, the Israelites wanted a king to lead them, and God gave them what they wanted. Israel’s kings were to lead the people in God’s ways and not the ways of the pagans around them. But being human, these kings had their strengths and weaknesses, their times of faithfulness and times of faithlessness. When they followed God’s wisdom over man’s, they excelled. When they didn’t, they revealed their foolishness. Through the example of their lives and their Spirit-inspired teachings, God continues to guide us in wisdom. Now, with Jesus, the true King intended for us from the beginning and the promised King from David’s line, we can learn better what true wisdom is—trusting Christ, fearing God, and walking in His ways. (14 sessions)

Spring 2025: Land and Loss (covering Joshua – 1 Samuel):

God had promised His rescued people a land flowing with milk and honey. True to His word, He led the Israelites to conquer that promised land. But after settling in, the people settled into sin, so God disciplined them. When they cried out to God, the Lord raised a judge to deliver them. Then they had rest. But this cycle of sin and deliverance continued. Humanity’s tendency toward sin has never gone away on our own efforts, even with the help of judges, priests, and prophets. What humanity has always needed was a Savior, an ultimate Judge and Deliverer who will wipe out sin and cleanse our sinful hearts forever. Jesus Christ came to fulfill that need and to restore our hearts, giving us true rest in Him. (13 sessions)

Winter 2024/25: Law and Life (covering Exodus-Deuteronomy):

God called Moses to deliver His people from captivity and lead them to the promised land. In the wilderness, God gave His people the law to reveal His holiness. Through the tabernacle and sacrificial system, God showed that He desired to dwell among them and provide a way to forgive their sin. Yet, the people’s lack of faithfulness expressed itself in constant grumblings with dire consequences. Though the previous generation would die for their sin, the new generation would enter the promised land because of God’s grace. When Jesus came, He fulfilled the law perfectly and, through His sacrifice, made a way for all who believe in Him to be reconciled to the Father. This is the faithfulness of a loving God who gives us life with Him forevermore. (13 sessions)

Fall 2024: Creation and Covenant (covering Genesis):

In the beginning, God created. He created the foundations for all that is and will be. He made sky, sea, and land and filled them with abundant creations and creatures—chief among them, human beings made in God’s image to reflect His glory in the world. But those image-bearers sinned, rejecting God’s way, as have all their descendants. Humanity cannot restore this broken relationship, but God can. He started by calling one man into a covenant with Himself, and that man believed God would bring blessing to the world through his descendant, whom we know as Jesus. Faith in God’s plan and ways has never been easy, but God’s faithfulness to His promises and His people has never wavered and never will. (13 sessions)
