Women Helping Women: Ethiopia Project

In Ethiopia, women are often left alone and away from others every month, during that agonizing week all women encounter with few sanitary resources, if any. We are inviting women everywhere to join The Woodlands First, and construct sanitary feminine products in kits to send overseas to our missionaries working and living with these women every day. There is something for EVERYONE with this project, no matter what your skill set.

What you can do:

Cut Fabric
Pin Fabric
Sew Fabric
Sew drawstring bags
Donate supplies (diaper cover fabric found in baby department, velcro 3/4 in wide, cotton flannel fabric in solid dark colors)
Donate money for supplies, transporting kits, etc.

Upcoming Opportunities:

Wednesday, April 10 from 12 – 2:30 pm, Thursday, April 18 from 9:30 am – noon, Wednesday, May 1 from 12 – 2:30, and May 30 from 9:30 am – noon in Room 132 at The Woodlands First Baptist Church.

Benefits:

The obvious benefit is the end product – beautiful kits of handmade, washable, feminine products made with love.
Another is fellowship! Use this as an opportunity to gather your book club, bunco group, Bible Study class, etc. and visit, laugh, and share
And another benefit is the gospel! As you invite your neighbors and social groups to be a part, you may also engage in conversation that over time leads to your faith, your church, or the Mighty God you serve.
We hope you will prayerfully consider being a part of the group that meet at The Woodlands First OR starting a group in your own home or church elsewhere. Contact Theresa Chauvin at chauvint@comcast.net if you have any questions, or you can always contact the church office for more information by calling 281-367-4317.
