We are off to a great start returning to preschool and children’s Bible Study classes. After 4 successful weeks of limited capacity, our team feels that we are ready to move forward with some changes to our Sunday morning procedures:
1. Starting this Sunday (11/1) we will NO LONGER require pre-registration for our Sunday morning classes. We have added some staff and volunteers to alleviate strain in some of our classrooms, such as 2nd grade, but we do reserve the right to close a classroom if attendance is more than the room can safely hold. We still have a need for teachers every other week in Kindergarten and 2nd grade. Please reach out to us if you would like more information about serving.
2. Beginning this week you will need to print name tags for your kids (birth-6th grade) using the Check-In kiosks in Building D. Your child’s name tag will list their room number. Note that for some preschoolers, as well as Kindergarten and 2nd grade, classroom assignments may have changed. If you no longer have your Woodlands First key tag, please let us know by Thursday (firstname.lastname@example.org) and we can print a new one in advance so that you will not have to wait in line on Sunday. As always, we will have staff at the Welcome Desk if you need assistance.
3. Now more than ever we are encouraging all kids, along with our teachers and staff, to wear a mask in the hallways and classrooms. Our rooms were not designed for physical distancing. While we practice good hygiene such as frequent hand washing, single use supplies and anti-microbial treatments in our building, the best way to prevent classroom or department closures is if everyone is wearing a mask. I know that at this point in we are all dealing with mask fatigue. However, in a classroom where 100% of students and teachers are wearing masks, there should be no need for a classroom closure in the event of an exposure. Let’s each do our part to keep meeting every Sunday by wearing our masks and staying home when we’re not feeling well. (Preschoolers are not required to wear masks, but our staff and teachers will. Older preschoolers are permitted to wear masks if parents so choose.)
4. Beginning this Sunday we will allow both parents to enter the building for pickup and drop-off (However, please ask grandparents and older siblings to wait outside to avoid congestion.) However, we WILL ASK that all parents in our building wear a mask in the lobby, stairwells and hallways. We would also encourage you to avoid lingering in the lobby area so that we can keep the flow of traffic moving swiftly.
If we each do our part, we can keep meeting, keep helping kids learn about Jesus, and keep our spaces safe and clean. Thanks so much for your efforts. We appreciate you and look forward to seeing your child this Sunday!

Welcome to The Woodlands First Baptist Church! We have opportunities for children of all ages every Sunday morning! Our preschool ministry is ready to give quality care and teaching to babies through pre-k children during both the 9:30 and 10:50 hour. For elementary students (grades K through 6) we have small group Bible Study at the 9:30 hour. For Kinder – 2nd, we have large group Kids’ Worship during the 10:50 hour. 3rd-6th graders worship with their families in the contemporary worship service at 10:50. We also have a special needs ministry for elementary kids that can provide a self-contained classroom or a shadow for a more inclusive experience for kids. Please contact our office for details.
We offer a variety of opportunities for preschoolers, children and preteens throughout the month. Join us on Wednesday nights for Preschool Choir, Kids’ Choir and Kids’ Bible Drill, and check out our once-a-month Kids Night Out (aka parent date night). Our summer calendar has tons of ways for kids to have fun and make friends while school is out! We look forward to ministering to your family and helping you to get connected with our church! Please feel free to reach out to our staff. We look forward to meeting you!
