Summer 2023: From Wonder to Rejection (Covering The Gospels)

The Lord Jesus came to earth to do the will of His Father, which captivated the attention of many for a time. His miracles of control and authority over wind, sea, sickness, and physical needs revealed His power over all things, including the authority to forgive sins as God Himself. Still, many rejected Him. Yet those who come to Jesus in faith become His disciples, citizens of the kingdom of God that Jesus inaugurates and will establish fully. In this volume, groups will see this Jesus as the way, the truth, and the life, the only Savior worthy of our faith-filled wonder, love, and praise.

Spring 2023: From Heaven to Earth (Covering The Gospels)

Heaven met earth in the most profound way when the Son of God, the Creator of everything, in the fullness of time, entered into His creation as a human being. From His miraculous conception and birth to His temptation and ultimately to His saving work on the cross, Jesus remained faithful to His mission to fulfill the Law and the Prophets as He embodied the love of God for His image-bearers. As we begin our study of the New Testament, be challenged to respond to this Savior with faith and with God’s love for a lost and dying world.

Winter 2022/2023: From Captivity to Restoration (Covering The Prophets, Ezra, Nehemiah, and Esther)

The consequences of sin against a holy God wreak havoc upon people. The nation of Judah experienced decades in captivity. But even in the land of their exile, God worked to provide for and restore His people both physically and spiritually. As the Old Testament narrative draws to a close, groups will see the gracious faithfulness of God on display and hear His promise of hope that draws our attention to Jesus, our Savior from all sin, shame, and guilt.

Fall 2022: From Rebellion to Exile (Covering 1 Kings – 2 Chronicles, and some prophets)

That the Lord is faithful to His promises should be comforting but simultaneously concerning, depending on one’s own faith and faithfulness or the lack thereof. In 1 Kings to 2 Chronicles, the Israelites experienced firsthand the promise of God’s discipline and judgment for rebellion—ultimately exile—but not without His mercy and patience to call His people back to Himself through His prophets. Groups will be reminded here that God does not tolerate sin, but He also responds to repentance with forgiveness and grace.

Summer 2022: From Unity to Division (Covering 1 Samuel – 1 Kings)

Sin has broken our relationship with our holy God. However, grace bridges this gap. In 1 Samuel and 1 Kings, we see how King Saul, King David, and King Solomon experienced both the division sin brings and the unity forgiveness offers. In this chapter of the Bible’s story, your groups will see that though we could never earn it, God’s grace freely offers redemption and renewal.

Spring 2022: From Conquest to a Kingdom (Covering Joshua – 1 Samuel)

The Israelites’ journey proves that God providentially guides and cares for His people. Israel’s victory over Jericho and God giving His people the land show that God can and will perform miracles. And when the Israelites kept sinning and responding to God with disobedience, God showed that He takes sin seriously but also offers redemptive grace. Through this chapter of the Bible’s story, your groups will be reminded of the One in whom all our hope lies: Jesus Christ. (13 sessions)

Winter 2021/2022 (From Captivity to the Wilderness (Covering Exodus – Deuteronomy)

As God called Moses, delivered His people, and parted the Red Sea, He remained faithful to His promises. The Ten Commandments further displayed God’s faithfulness and goodness as the foundation of our worship. Through this study, your groups will see that God’s holy, merciful, and loving nature is worthy of all our praise.

Fall 2021 (From Creation to Chaos) – Study of Genesis

In the beginning, God created everything for His glory and our good. But when sin entered the world, creation appeared to be ruined. Out of the ruins, God made a promise: that through one man’s descendant, God would bless the whole world—and restore the good creation He made. Through this study, your groups will discover the truth that nothing is outside of God’s plan or control to redeem creation from sin.
