The future Kingdom of God is global because our God is global. He loves the whole world. Jesus is for the world. That truth carries special significance in our community. The Woodlands is home to many first-generation internationals—men and women who were born in another country and now reside in the United States, bringing with them the blessing of two cultures. If God’s Kingdom includes every nation, tribe, people, and language, should our love not cross cultures and borders today? If Christ’s sacrifice is sufficient for all, should we not call upon Him now while salvation is freely offered? If suffering is temporary, should we not do what we can to relieve suffering in the present?

Jesus taught us to pray, “Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” International Sunday reminds us that we are called not only to pray those words, but to live them.
