MOPS Present a Birds and Bees Event
Join the thousands of families who have jumped in and are revolutionizing “the talk!”
We understand that the world around us has changed dramatically and our approach towards “the talk” should too!
Join us on April 18th from 4-6pm at our South Campus to hear from Megan Michelson from Birds and Bees (birds-bees.com).
As parents, if we don’t talk to our kids about sex, then who (or what?) will teach them? Did you know kids are as likely to see porn by accident as they are to actively search for it? This is shocking, no doubt, but it’s not all doom-and-gloom! We live in a time where there is less of a deafening silence around this issue. Let’s speak up + speak into your kids’ lives. Now is the time.
Megan Michelson with The Birds & The Bees will lead a live program that encourages and equips parents to have age appropriate conversations with their young children about sex. Where do babies come from? How is that baby going to get out of there? The Birds & The Bees want parents to answer these questions when their kids are asking them in order to
create a foundation for future conversations. In today’s sex saturated culture, the idea of “the talk” at age 13 is too late. Their goal is to replace that one talk with several smaller talks so that your kids can hear your voice and values. They want parents to be prepared and have a plan for when the questions start, because it will be sooner than you think! The live program walks you through the six- step strategy that takes you from the early preschool years to preadolescence. Many parents come to this program nervous and intimidated about this topic and leave feeling encouraged and empowered!
After the presentation, dinner will be served in the Great Hall (catered by Chipotle).
Childcare is available by reservation only for $3 per child (dinner included)
Cost is $12 per person
